a prediction for the becoming of forms
"MORPHOGENETIC TENSIONS, a prediction for the becoming of forms", est une installation plurimédia composée d’un essai vidéographique, d’une série de dessins et de sculptures questionnant l’origine des formes dans notre environnement déchiré entre nature et artifice. La perturbation et la disparition des formes originelles au sein des environnements terrestres peuvent être identifiables du point de vue des caractères et des lois qui dirigent toute forme existante. D’après Jacques Monod les moteurs morphogénétiques du vivant sont de nature fonctionnelle, alors que ceux des objets artificiels sont de nature intentionnelle et ceux des mécanismes physio-chimiques en quelque sorte de nature sur-imposée.
Présentation
Dans la pièce vidéo Morphogenetic Tensions, l’univers graphique et l‘ambiance sonore structurent un parcours prédictif de cette morphogenèse des formes contemporaines. Les matières sonores et les techniques visuelles de la vidéo, images animées entre conception numérique et manuelle, rencontrent les glitchs qui génèrent et dégénèrent de nouveaux états de la forme et de la matière.
Un cycle ainsi s’instaure, émergeant du minéral, passant au végétal et à l’animal, qui s’éclate par des clashs d’artefacts, pour émerger de nouveau de l’animal, du végétal puis du minéral.
Au sein du dispositif Morphogenetic Tension, des planches de dessin à l’encre blanche sur feuille noire s’associe à l’installation vidéo en augmentant ses hypothèses poétiques de corps et de formes hétérogènes en tensions formelles.
Dans le même espace, une série de recherches en volume entre la sculpture et la structure tente de confondre corps organiques et artefacts. Ces sculptures translucides multiformes en impression 3D et en polymères, délicatement rétro éclairées par un support fin et allongé, renvoient à des références différentes, organiques comme artificielles : peau animale, membrane végétale, objets et architectures humains.
L’ensemble forme un répertoire interrogeant l’origine des formes dans notre monde tout en offrant au sein d’une même proposition, de multiples expériences sensorielles et complémentaires. La richesse des formes et l’alphabet des corps nous captivent et nous questionnent. Le devenir de notre monde dépendra-il d’un équilibre morphogénétique qui pourrait s’instaurer au sein d’un écosystème hybride nouveau, émergeant dans une époque post anthropocène ?

Morphogenetic Tensions is a scenographic essay on the origin of forms in our environment torn between nature and artifice.
The disruption and disappearance of original forms within terrestrial environments can be identified from the point of view of the characters and laws that direct all existing forms. Will the future of our world depend on the morphogenetic balance that could be established within a new hybrid ecosystem ? emerging in a post-anthropocene era ?

MORPHOGENETIC TENSIONS consists of a video essay in the form of an installation and a series of drawings and sculptures, exploring the origin of forms in our environment torn between nature and artifice. According to Jacques Monod, the morphogenetic motors of living organisms are functional in nature, whereas those of artificial objects are intentional, and those of physio-chemical mechanisms are in some way superimposed. In the Morphogenetic Tensions installation, the graphic universe and soundscape structure a predictive path of this morphogenesis.
Sound materials and visual techniques, between sculpture and animations, drawings, diagrams and effects, meet glitches that generate and degenerate new states of form and matter. A cycle is thus established, emerging from mineral, moving on to plant and animal, which is exploded by artifact clashes, only to re-emerge from animal, plant and then mineral. In Morphogenetic Tension, Indian ink and digital drawing boards are used to augment the video installation.
Confused Bodies, a series of volume-based research projects between sculpture and maquette, attempts to confuse organic bodies and artifacts. These objects made of polymers and silicones refer to different references, both organic and artificial: animal skin, plant membranes, objects or architecture. Golnaz Behrouznia brings them all together to form an installation, a kind of repertoire questioning the origin of forms in our world, and offering multiple, complementary sensory experiences within a single proposition.
